Recognized for her artistic prowess and God-given talent, Atlanta native Alexis Michelle Gates is the Founder and Artistic Director of House of Gemz Dance Studio LLC. Ms. Gates has been dancing since she was 2 years old. She was trained at the McClendon School of Dance and attended NuLook School of Performing Arts. Ms. Gates has been choreographing/teaching for numerous showcases and events since she was thirteen years old, including the play Be Careful Whom You Kiss. Ms. Gates has performed on stage with Kirk Franklin and other artists, as well as appeared on television. She has also performed at the Bob Carr Theater. Ms. Gates has been apart of numerous productions including The Chocolate Nutcracker and many others. Having a passion for the art of dance has encouraged her to continue teaching and choreographing by opening a dance studio that not only brings flavor to the Clermont community and beyond but also uplift, encourage and instill a passion for dance to others. Although winning competitions are ideal to some people, Ms. Gates strives to shape students in becoming professional dancers, if they so choose, to have a lifelong career in what they love.
